Situated at a distance of 90 km from the headquarters town, Angul, Deulajhari is a unique place as it lies in the vicinity of dense indigenous-jasmine forest (locally known as Kiabana). It stands as the high walls around the temple. Hot springs surrounding the temple rejuvenate the beauty of this place. It is believed to be the ancient citadel of Saivism. Earlier, there were eighty-four such springs, but with the passage of time, now only twenty-four springs are alive. Among these, the springs bearing the names like Agnikunda, Taptakunda, Himakunda, Amrutakunda and Labakusakunda are the prominent ones. The temperature of water in these springs varies from 40 °C to 62 °C.
